Introduction
This species is common along the eastern coastline of Australia from the wet tropics of North Queensland to southern Tasmania.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: xylem feeder.
Diagnosis
Tête fortement arrondie au-delà des yeux, jaune, avec cinq macules sur le vertex, deux bandes frontales et une tache apicale en dessous. Prothorax deux fois plus large que long, avec une bande médiane et quatre taches noires de chaque côté. Ecusson avec deux taches basilaires. Elytres d'un noir plombe, avec le bord externe blanc; le tout recouvert, dans l'état frais, d'une poussière pruniforme. Ailes noires. Abdomen et pattes jaunes, le premier noir en dessus. Long. 0.008 ♀, ♂ (Signoret 1853).
