Introduction
Tentatively records of Foa fo and Foa brachygrammus from Australia are treated as belonging to a single species. Further work may show additional species. Note that the Standard Name applied to Foa brachygrammus of Harbour Cardinalfish and the common name Estuarine Cardinalfish would not apply to Australian material, which is found on or near coral reefs.
