Records of adults from northeast of Sir Charles Hardy Islands (11°51'S, 143°41'E) to Endeavour Reef (15°45'S, 145°42'E), QLD, but juveniles recorded as far south as Sydney Harbour, NSW (34°S, 151°E), also Lord Howe Island; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
