Diagnosis

Carapace short and high when seen laterally, ovate in dorsal view with height and width exceeding 1/2 L. Fused zone with antero- and a postero-ventral crescent-shaped internal expansion. Valves light brown to dark brown. Swimming setae on antenna well developed or partly reduced. Penultimate segment on male antenna subdivided but without male sexual bristles. Antenna in female with 5 long terminal claws, in male with three long claws instead. On basal segment of second thoracopod seta d1 present.
