Rowley Shoals (17°20'S) and Scott Reef (14°03'S), and possibly south to Muiron Islands (21°40'S), WA, Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea (12°15'S) and northern Great Barrier Reef (12°00'S) to Capricorn Group (23°30'S), QLD with juveniles to Sydney, NSW, also Boot Reef (9°58'S), Osprey Reef (13°52'S), and Lihou Reef (17°20'S), Coral Sea; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
