Introduction
The presence of this species in Australia is based on Young (1979) who listed it from Queensland. No additional details of the material on which this record was based were provided. The species is otherwise widely distributed from Africa through Asia to the Philippines and New Guinea so its presence in Queensland is not unexpected. Wilson & Claridge (1991) note that it can be found on rice but is not associated with economic damage.

Diagnosis
A smaller species compared with C. spectra; head more pointed, lacking the central black spot at margin of face and vertex. Head distinctly green in colour, forewings very pale green. Length. ♂ 5.6–6.2 mm, ♀, 6.6–6.9 mm (Wilson & Claridge 1991).
