Introduction

Kuiter (2010) considered Cirrhilabrus temminckii to be a species complex with Cirrhilabrus temminckii Bleeker, 1853 restricted to the northwest Pacific. Records from the coast of Western Australia considered to represent an undescribed endemic species (Cirrhilabrus cf temminckii 2), and those from Indonesia, Malaysia, the offshore atolls of WA and northeastern Australia considered to be a second undescribed species (Cirrhilabrus cf temminckii 1)(Kuiter 2010). Further studies are required to determine the identity of these species.
