Shark Bay, WA (ca. 25°S, 113°E) to Arafura Sea, NT (09°41'S, 133°25'E), records from QLD in Randall et al. (1990; 1997) require confirmation, Parin (1999) did not show the species from eastern Australia; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
