[266] [Centropogon australis latifrons was at one point considered a synonym of Centropogon australis but has since been removed from synonymy; authorship sometimes attributed to Shaw, but the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature requires that the authorship be determined from the original description and Shaw was not listed as the author].
