Comment: the name Knob Island is not currently in use and it is likely that the locality is Nob Island, off Cape Grenville, south of Torres Strait; sometimes given as Noble Island, which is much farther south of Torres Strait, near Cooktown. - Pseudomonacanthus melanoides Ogilby, J.D. 1908.
