Dampier Archipelago (20°21'S) to Rowley Shoals (17°20'S), WA, Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea (12°15'S), Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and Clack Reef, QLD (14°03'S) to Elizabeth Reef (29°57'S), NSW; a record from Norfolk Island (Randall 2005) appears to be based on a different species; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
