Type data:
Lectotype NHMB ♂ (coll.: 26.iv.1932), Burnside, Northern Territory.
Paralectotype(s) NHMB 1 ♂, 2 ♀ (coll: 26.iv.1932), Burnside, Northern Territory; IRSNB 1 ♂, 1 ♀ (coll: 26.iv.1932), Burnside, Northern Territory
Comment: Medler (1986) referred to two male syntypes in Brussels as being "paralectotypes" but no lectotype had been designated so these specimens remained as syntypes. In the same work, Medler (1986) mentioned that the lectotype male was in the Basel Museum. Since there were two male syntypes in the Basel Museum, this did not constitute a lectotype designation which eventually was made by Medler (1988). Two syntypes cited by Lallemand (1935) were not located by Medler (1988).Subsequent designation references:

Introduction
This species is a synonym of Hypsiphanta minax Jacobi. Although, he realised this, Medler did not formalise the synonymy but included a note to this effect in copies of his reprints which he circulated later. This can be cited as Medler (pers. comm. 2001). A formal synonymy is being prepared for publication.
