- Burnix Medler, J.T. 1988. Types of Flatidae (Homoptera) IX Lectotype designations and three new genera for species in the Basel Museum. Entomologica Basiliensia 12: 83-91 [85].
Type species:
Euphanta insignis Lallemand, 1935 by original designation.
Introduction
In a handwritten note distributed with reprints of some of his later papers, Medler (pers. comm. 2001) indicated that Burnix is a junior synonym of Hypsiphanta Jacobi. Unfortunately, Medler did not publish this synonymy so Burnix remains valid in the literature. The only included species, Burnix insignis (Lallemand), is a synonym of Hypsiphanta minax Jacobi. Formal synonymies are being prepared for publication.
