Introduction

This robust squat species (6.5–7.5mm total length) has the lateral pronotal processes set back from the front of the pronotum which therefore seems to bulge anteriorly. The pronotum and the forewings, particularly over the basal region, bear prominent erect setae. The median posterior process is surmounted by a prominent ridge. It is known from southeastern Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales and is rare in collections.
