Gneering Shoals off Mooloolaba, QLD (26°39'S, 153°10'E) to Cape Conran, VIC (37°49'S, 148°44'E) and Kangaroo Island, SA (35°44'S, 137°58'E) to South Passage, Shark Bay, WA (26°08'S, 113°09'E), possibly north to Cape Cuvier; temperate.
