Diagnosis
Carapace smooth or pseudo-punctate, often strongly pilose, mostly elongate and with width less than half the length. Left valve overlaps right one on all free margins. Both valves with inner lists on well-developed calcified inner lamellae; selvage absent. Antennula with segments 4 and 5 always fused, segments 6 and 7 sometimes fused as well. Second thoracopod with 2 and 3 segments completely and incompletely fused; 4th segment with subapical seta short, mostly 1/2 or 1/4 length of end claw. Caudal ramus asymmetrical, right ramus with proximal seta a thick claw and with shaft strongly denticulate, left ramus with proximal seta a more slender claw and with shaft finely pectinate.
