Type data:
Holotype ANIC ♂ (coll.: 28.viii.1951, H.F. Lower, feeding and breeding on saltbush, Atriplex nummularia Lindl), Wild Horse Plains, South Australia.
Generic Combinations
- Austroasca infulata Lower, 1953 [Austroasca Lower was synonymised with Empoasca Walsh by Evans (1966) who listed all the included species as new combinations. Ghauri (1967) regarded the two genera as being separate and this was accepted by Evans (1977). However, the reinstated combinations were not listed by either author and first reappeared in Day & Fletcher (1994)]. —

Introduction
This species is only known from the type locality in South Australia and distinguishable from other species in the genus only by reference to the structures of the male genitalia.

Diagnosis
General coloration green. Crown of head obscurely patterned with light shades of green. Tegmen pale green tending to brownish apically. Length ♂ 3.3 mm (Evans 1966).
Lower (1953) gave a comprehensive description and provided figures of the male genitalia.
