Subtribe Aphanisticina Jacquelin du Val, 1863
Type genus:
Aphanisticus Latrielle, 1829 [by indication].
Introduction
The Aphanisticina Jacquelin du Val, 1863 contains only two genera, Aphanisticus Latreille, 1829 and Endelus Deyrolle, 1865. Aphanisticus is a large genus found throughout the Old World from the southern Palaearctic Region, thoughout Africa, Madagascar, India, tropical Asia, the Indo-Oriental region and into tropical northern Australia. Endelus is a smaller genus found in tropical Asia, the Indo-Oriental region and into tropical northern Australia. Antecdotal evidence and the few published records indicate that some Endelus species, at least, are associated with tree ferns as leaf-miners. The last revision of Endelus was by Théry (1932).
