Tribe Aphanisticini Jacquelin du Val, 1863
Type genus:
Aphanisticus Latrielle, 1829 [by indication].
Introduction
The Aphanisticini is a taxon that is not yet clearly established as monophyletic. It is comprised of three subtribes: Aphanisticina, Anthaxomorphina and Germaricina. The last work on this tribe and its constituents was by Cobos (1979).
Théry (1929) placed Aphanisticus, Endelus and Germarica in the subtribe Traches, a concept that has been replaced by further refinements in the newer classification of Holynski (1993).
