Introduction
The family Amarsipidae comprises a single genus and species, Amarsipus carlsbergi (Nelson 1994; Last 2001; Parin & Piotrovsky 2004), found in the tropical regions of the Indian and Pacific Oceans (Haedrich 1969). Most records of this poorly known family are based on juveniles.
