Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, herbivore (associated flora: Jacksonia scoparia R.Br. ex Sm. [FABACEAE] Dogwood (on flowers); Dillwynia retorta (J.C.Wendl.) Druce [FABACEAE] Heathy Parrot Pea (on flowers); Pultenaea ferruginea Rudge [FABACEAE] Large Bronze Bush-Pea (on flowers); Dillwynia floribunda Sm. [FABACEAE] Parrot Pea (on flowers); Leptospermum spp. [MYRTACEAE] Tea-trees (on flowers); Dillwynia spp. [FABACEAE] (on flowers); Pultenaea spp. [FABACEAE] (on flowers)), volant.

Larva: gall-inducer (associated flora: Pultenaea ferruginea Rudge [FABACEAE] Large Bronze Bush-Pea; Pultenaea stipularis Sm. [FABACEAE] (in galls); Pultenaea flexilis Sm. [FABACEAE] (in galls)).

Extra Ecological Information

Tepper (1887) recorded this species from Pultenaea acerosa and P. daphnoides. Williams & Williams (1983) recorded this species from Dillwynia floribunda, Jacksonia scoparia, Phyllota grandiflora and Pultenaea ferruginea var. deanei (Fabaceae). Hawkeswood & Peterson (1982) cited Froggatt's (1892) record of this species breeding in galls on stems of Pultenaea stipularis; Hawkeswood (1988) recorded larvae of this species from galls of Pultenaea flexilis; Webb (1993) recorded this species from Dillwynia retorta and Pultenaea flexilis; Cowie (2001) listed this species from "Bush peas", Dillwyina spp.
