Adult: diurnal, herbivore (associated flora: Angophora hispida (Sm.) Blaxell [MYRTACEAE] Dwarf Apple; Banksia spinulosa Sm. [PROTEACEAE] Hairpin Banksia (on flowers or foliage); Banksia ericifolia L.f. [PROTEACEAE] Heath Leaved Banksia (on flowers or foliage); Banksia serrata L.f. [PROTEACEAE] Saw Banksia (on flowers or foliage); Banksia marginata Cav. [PROTEACEAE] Silver Banksia (on flowers or foliage); Leptospermum sp. [MYRTACEAE] Tea-tree (on flowers or foliage); Leptospermum polygalifolium Salisb. [MYRTACEAE]; Banksia spp. [PROTEACEAE] (on flowers or foliage)), volant.

Larva: wood-borer (associated flora: Banksia integrifolia L.f. [PROTEACEAE] Coast Banksia; Banksia spinulosa Sm. [PROTEACEAE] Hairpin Banksia; Banksia serrata L.f. Extra Ecological Information

Williams (1977) recorded this species from foliage of Leptospermum flavescens (Myrtaceae); Hawkeswood (1978) listed this species from Banksia spinulosa (Proteaceae); Williams & Williams (1983) recorded this species from Banksia sp. and one unidentified species of Leptospermum; Hawkeswood (1988) cited French's (1900) record of biology and larval hosts, Banksia integrifolia; Cowie (2001) recorded this species from Banksia marginata from dune and heath country in Tasmania.
