Tribe Epistomentini Levey, 1978
Introduction
The Epistomentini was described by Levey (1978). This group is one of several buprestid tribes that has an extant distribution in both Australia and southern South America. Two Chilean genera and three Australian genera comprise the epistomentines: Epistomentis Solier and Pygicera Kerremans from Chile and Cyrioides Carter (= Cyria Dejean and Cyriola Strand), Diadoxus Saunders and Araucariana Levey from Australia. The placement of Pygicera in this tribe is not yet confirmed, but suggested by Holynski (1993). The placement of Epistomentini in Buprestinae follows the recent work of Volkovitsh (2001).
