Introduction

This species is primarily distributed across the Marquesas and Cook Island groups in the Pacific with a single male specimen collected in Darwin, Northern Territory. The Darwin specimen differs in certain features from specimens from other localities but Webb (1981) considered that these differences were not significant since the species is rather variable anyway.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

Diagnosis

The two Australian species of Dryadomorpha can be differentiated by the thickness of the apical processes of the aedeagus, those of D. metrosideri being evenly narrow throughout while those of D. pallida are slightly swollen at their midlength.
