Species Hazeus diacanthus (Schultz, 1943)

Twospine Sandgoby, Diacanthus Goby, Hole Goby, Twospine Goby

Introduction

The species has been incorrectly treated as a junior synonym of Gobius atherinoides Peters, 1855. The types of that species include two genera, neither congeneric with Opua (see Larson & Wright 2003). Multiple species have been misidentified as Oplopomops atherinoides.
