Genus Oxyporhamphus Gill, 1863

 

Introduction

The genus is sometimes included in the Exocoetidae (see Dasilao & Sasaki 1998). Collette (1999, 2004) and Lovejoy et al. (2004) retained the species in the Hemiramphidae. Subsequent molecular work (Lewallen et al. 2011) supported placement in the Hemiramphidae.
