This distinctively striped species is immediately recognisable by colour. It is widespread along the eastern parts of Australia from the wet tropics of North Queensland to Hobart, Tasmania. Its generic placement is currently unknown and it will probably be allocated a new genus along with a series of other species which have similar distinctive features of the male genitalia.
