Introduction
Fowler (1934) replaced Hemirhamphus brevirostris Günther 1866 before Smith (1945), but the name proposed by Fowler was not used until recently (Kottelat 2013). We follow Collette (2004) in use of the name Z. gilli who argued that the name "has been widely accepted and should continue to be used for this species". Technically the name kneri has priority, which was followed by Kottelat (2013)..
