Coral Bay (23°07'S) and Rowley Shoals, WA and Ashmore Reef, Coral Sea (10°23'S) to Capricorn Bunker Group (23°29'S), QLD, also Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, Middleton Reef, Elizabeth Reef and Lord Howe Island, Tasman Sea, reported as rare in Coral Sea by Choat & Randall 1986, but detailed localities not given; tropical, west-central Pacific.
