Genus Wernindia Löcker & Fletcher, 2006

Compiler and date details

25 August 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

A genus currently containing three nicely marked brown species although Löcker et.al. (2006) suggested that variability in a number of key features, such as the presence/absence of platellae on the first hind tarsomere, may indicate that they are not all congeneric. Further data are needed to confirm their true affinities. The name is derived from the names of the authors’ friends and Auchenorrhyncha colleagues Ingrid and Werner Holzinger of Austria.
