Notes
According to Huber (2015:481), Varotoga anomala and Varotoga cryptozoica are morphologically similar, but live in biogeographically distinct areas, with V. cryptozoica extending from Moreton Bay to colder Tasmanian waters, whereas V. anomala is a tropical species from Aden to Rodrigues Island to Borneo and the Philippines.
Hence V. cryptozoica has been removed as an Australian species.
