Notes

"Lamprell & Healy (1998: sp. 396) recognized species of Varotoga as special or distinct from Scintilla. Lamprell & Healy's solution, synonymy with Scintillona, however, does not match."(Huber, 2015)
According to Huber (2015:481) "Varotoga Iredale, 1931 is abased on Solecardia cryptozoica Hedley, 1917. As Demonstrated by Lützen et al. (2005: 272-3), the congeneric Varotoga anomala approaches Scintilla anatomically..."
Huber considers Varotoga to be closer to Scintilla than Scintillona in all observable traits.
