Species Vanderhorstia dorsomacula Randall, 2007

Slender Shrimpgoby, Dorsalspot Shrimpgoby, Slender Shrimp-goby, Yellow-pepper Shrimpgoby

Introduction

The species is very similar to Vanderhorstia mertensi from the western Indian Ocean. No direct comparison has been made of the two species, and it is possible that V. mertensi is confined to the Red Sea and western Indian Ocean. Tentatively we recognise only Vanderhorstia dorsomacula from Australia, but further work is needed on the genus in Australia.
