Introduction

This genus was reviewed by Huang and Bourgoin (1993) who recognised eight species of which one, T. wilsoni Huang & Bourgoin, was recorded in Australia where it is distributed in NE New South Wales and SE Queensland. Since then, T. aschei Huang & Bourgoin, originally described from New Guinea, has been found in the Northern Territory. The species are unusual for the family Tropiduchidae in being dimorphic with a macropterous form with clear wings and a semibrachypterous form with dark coloured wings.
