Subfamily Tambiniinae Kirkaldy, 1907

Introduction

The Australian representation of this subfamily comprises three species in three genera, all placed in the tribe Tambiniini. One genus Kallitambinia Muir is endemic to eastern Australia. The other two genera are primarily Oriental in distribution with one reaching Queensland and the other found on Christmas Island. The Australian species are flattened species, usually green, with the head extended in front of the eyes.

 

Diagnosis

Costal area of tegmen very narrow, not veined transversely (Kirkaldy 1907).
