Introduction

This species has been recorded from the the eastern coastline of Queensland, several islands in Torres Strait and from Tiwi Coburg (Melville Island) in the far north of the Northern Territory. The species was synonymised with the widespread T. brunnipennis (Signoret) by Matsumura (1907) but this synonymy was not followed by Fennah (1965) nor Donaldson (1991).
