Monographs on Australian Lepidoptera. Collingwood : CSIRO Publishing Vol. 4 xiv 529 pp. & CD-ROM. [273] (Note #518: Trichiocercus Stephens, 1835. The genus Carama Walker, 1855 was established to include a single species identified by Walker as Arcturns sparsballi Curtis, 1830. Walker misidentified specimens of what is now Carama walkeri Butler, 1877 (Megalopygidae) from Brazil. Carama Walker is treated in the Megalopygidae by Fletcher. and Nye (1982). This is a case of misidentified type species which under the Code, Art. 70(a), should be referred to the Commission. The genus is not listed here as it is clear that stability is best preserved by retaining Carama Walker in the Megalopygidae)
