Introduction

This species is only known from the male holotype from Hobart, Tasmania, despite Evans (1966) stating that the type locality was Dongarra, Western Australia. No specimens of the species remain in the J.W. Evans collection.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head whitish yellow with brown maculations; arcuate markings brown, edged with black, eyes red; crown from above not visible in the centre. Pronotum concolorous with the head. Scutellum yellowish with black punctures, anterior lateral angles black. Tegmen transparent, suffused with very pale brown, the apex and the veins dark brown. Thorax ventral surface dark brown. Legs pale brown with dark brown markings. Abdomen ventral surface with each segment dark brown anteriorly and pale brown posteriorly; genital segments dark brown. Length 4.8 mm. head width 1.5 mm (Evans 1936).
