Larva: parasitic.
Diagnosis
Antennal flagellum with swollen basal section about size and shape of pedicel. Haltere knob dark brown. Wing venation with spur-vein at base R2+3 usually present, r-m crossvein adjacent to base of R2+3; spur-vein present at base of R4 and directed proximally parallel to R5, spur-vein on dm-cu absent. Wing membrane hyaline except light brown in costal and subcostal cells. Abdominal tergites 2 and 3 with black hairs and tomentum except anterolateral corners of tergite 2 with white hairs and scales and median quarter of posterior margin of both tergites with tuft of white scales. Tergite 4 with black hairs and scales. Tergites 5–7 with black hairs and tomentum on median third, lateral margins with white scales and tomentum. Phallus with distinctive shape. Apex of epiphallus (Fig. 21) dorsally a broad subrectangular plate, lateral projections small, medial projection terminating squarely, basal margin with very small lateral and medial projections. Apex of epiphallus (Fig. 39) laterally with medial and lateral projections large, well sclerotised and recurved, apical margin distinctly concave. Ventral hook very well developed. Neck spine absent.
