Larva: parasitic.

 

Diagnosis

Similar to T. simulatus except in the following respects. Tergites 2 and 3 with black hairs and tomentum except posterior margin of tergite 2 with transverse band of white scales and median quarter of posterior margin of tergite 3 with tuft of white scales. Male genitalia with apex of epiphallus (Figs 38, 56) dorsally a distinctive, broad, subquadrate plate, lateral projections long, thin, blunt and projecting laterally; medial projection truncate, basal margin slightly concave; lateral corners of apical margin forming dorsally projecting, incurving flanges. Apex of epiphallus laterally with medial and lateral projections large and recurved, strongly projecting dorsally. Ventral hook a large folded flange, extending laterally. Neck spine absent.
