Diagnosis

Column divisible into a long scapus and a short scapulus, the former with a cuticle. Sphincter very long, alveolar, with small meshes, broad in its upper part, where it is set in the middle of the mesoglea, dimishing downwards and here approaching the endoderm, but always wholly separated from the endodermal muscles of the column. Oral disc and tentacles with remarkably complex, bilaterally symmetrical pattern, directive axis marked by special markings. Tentacles, 74, banded pattern, apices of the tentacles yellowish red, knobbed, and in preserved state, longitudinally furrowed. Mesenteries, 37 pairs, only first cycle perfect and fertile, those of first to third with filaments and acontia. Only first cycle mesenteries have retractors, more or less restricted, retractors of directives strongly restricted and almost circumscribed.
