Introduction
This is one of two species of this tropical genus found in Australia, both restricted to coastal Queensland.

Diagnosis
The two Australian species of Tambinia can easily be distinguished by colour. Tambinia venusta has the carinae of the head and pronotum highlighted in red whereas this species doesn't.
