Introduction
Gill & Mooi (2012) described the family and proposed the group as the sister group to Gobiidae. The group is confined to temperate marine, shallow, rocky reef regions of Australia and New Zealand. Currently two genera (Thalasseleotris and Grahamichthhys) and three species are known, with one species found in Australia.
