Stichopus (Perideris) chloronotus Brandt, J.F. 1835. Prodromus descriptionis animalium ab H. Mertensio in orbis terrarum circumnavigatione observatorum. pp. 1-75-1 pl. [50].
Type data:
Holotype whereabouts unknown (whereabouts undetermined), 'Insula Lugunor' and Guam (as Guahan).

Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

Melbourne : CSIRO Australia xiii 510 pp. [Date published 30 May 1995] (following re-examination of 6 syntypes (TIU 1058) of Stichopus hirotai this species is transferred from the synonymy of Stichopus variegatus Semper, 1868, where it was placed mistakenly by Clark, H.L. 1922.
