Introduction

This cavernicolous species is known from two adult males and two nymphs from two caves on Mt Mulgrave Station, North Queensland. The name honours Bro. Nicholas G. Sullivan, whose commitment to the study and protection of the Chillagoe Karst made the study by Hoch & Howarth (1989) of the cavernicolous species of Solonaima possible.

Ecological Descriptors

Adult: phloem feeder.

All stages: cave dweller.

Extra Ecological Information

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

This species is closely related to S. solonaima but can be distinguished by the proportions of the frons, the coloration of the wings and the shape of the aedeagus (Hoch & Howarth 1989)
