Introduction
There are three genera of Brixiini present in Australia. Two of these include cavernicolous species which display a range of morphological adaptations to subterranean life (see Hoch & Howarth 1989a, 1989b)
Diagnosis
Median carina of metope unforked; median ocellus of metope present (Undarana, Innobindus) or absent (Solonaima); pedicel of antenna either at least 3 times as long as wide (Sonolaima) or up to twice as long as wide (Undarana, Innobindus); forewing with subcostal and radial veins (and sometimes also the medial vein) united at base to form a distinct stem; mesonotum with three longitudinal carinae; hind tibiae with 5–6 apical teeth.
