Introduction

This cavernicolous species is known from a number of specimens of adults and nymphs collected in two towers of the Chillagoe Karst in North Queensland. The name honours Fred D. Stone, cave explorer and biogeographer, who collected much of the type material.

Adult: phloem feeder.

All stages: cave dweller.

Extra Ecological Information

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

S. stonei is similar to S. pholetor and can be differentiated by features of the male genitalia.
