     Holotype ANIC Male (coll: M.S. Upton, 4.iii.1965), 7mls W of Rosebank, New South Wales.
    Paratype(s) QMBA male (coll.: G. Monteith, 28.i.–3.ii.1963), Lamington National Park, Queensland; ANIC female (coll.: M.S. Upton, 4.iii.1965), 7 mls West of Rosebank, NSW
    Comment: The type locality is uncertain since there are at least 27 homesteads and one village in New South Wales called "Rosebank". However, one of the paratypes is from SE Queensland so the type locality is probably in NE New South Wales where the village of Rosebank is situated NE of Lismore.

 

Introduction

An epigean species, the only member of the genus Solonaima recorded in New South Wales. The species name honours the late Ebbe Schmidt Nielsen, former head of the Australian National Insect Collection.

Adult: phloem feeder.

Extra Ecological Information

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

The species can be distinguished from other species of the genus on the basis of the male genitalia.
