Introduction

A cavernicolous species found in two caves of the Chillagoe Karst. The name honours Douglas and Mary Ann Irvin, members of the Chillagoe Caving Club who supported the authors' expeditions.

Adult: phloem feeder.

All stages: cave dweller.

Extra Ecological Information

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

This species is closely related to S. halos Hoch & Howarth, but can be distinguished by the spine configuration of the aedeagus as well as by the relative length of the hindwings. (Hoch & Howarth 1989)
