Holotype NHRM ♀ (coll.: Nov.; holotype by monotypy), Kimberley district, Western Australia.
Introduction
This species was placed by Fletcher (1985) into the anomala group but, although the five species in this group show affinity with each other, they lack uniform characteristics throughout.S. anomala, which is found in NW Western Australia, shares a strongly sinuate costal margin of the tegmen and an unusual shape of the head with S. constricta from the Northern Territory. The male genitalia show an affinity with some members of the acuta group.

Diagnosis
Generally brown with white granules and red speckling. Pale stripe along midline of vertex, pronotum and mesonotum. Ventrally pale. Tegmen smoky brown, darker in obscure transverse bands. Costal margin speckled with red from near base to about 2/3 length then pallid to near apex, thence alternating red and pallid around apical margin and claval margin to apex of clavus. Head with frons sloping steeply away on either side of median ridge over apical half, flat on basal half; vertex elongate, produced forwards over entire breadth for some distance then rounded to apex; vertex evenly curved upwards towards apex. Tegmen with costal margin strongly convex over basal 2/3 then strongly concave before rounded apical angle; apical margin straight; sutural angle slight less than 90º; M1+2 branched just distal to level of apex of clavus. Male pygofer lacking process. Paramere with short pointed process continuous with apical curve of paramere. Female third valvulae narrow with pilose area ventral. Second valvulae gap widely V-shaped, with valvulae divergent to apices (Fletcher 1985).
